L'objectif présente une grande luminosité périphérique et génère des images piquées et contrastées y compris à pleine ouverture. Le système Sigma O.S. de stabilisation optique permet un gain de 4 valeurs de vitesse. La motorisation HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) assure une mise au point rapide et silencieuse, avec une retouche permanente du point.
